Embrace a Christmas outdoors in a Breeze House gazebo
It’s the time of year again when our thoughts turn to Christmas, and, for some, the long list of things you need to prepare in readiness for the big day. It can be overwhelming to say the least. Our approach this year is simple: making the little moments big memories, surrounded by loved ones.
So, grab a mulled wine, sit back and take a moment to uncover some simple ideas that can help you embrace a Christmas outdoors and ensure you have a relaxed yet unforgettable festive period.
According to House Beautiful, nature-inspired Christmas décor is bang on trend this year, with wreaths and garlands being the quickest and easiest way to bring a little of the outdoors in. But before you head off to buy one from your local florist, why not grab your secateurs, step into the garden, and see what you can find to create your own?
Winter foliage and berries foraged from your garden or surrounding areas can be transformed into the most beautiful festive wreath – adding a personal touch to your decorations this Christmas. Plus, the actual practice of foraging allows you to connect with nature, embrace the outdoors and stimulate your senses.
Ideally, the best foliage to use for a festive wreath should add depth, contrasting textures, colour and have movement. Using a pre-made, plain pine wreath as a base, we added foraged embellishments including dried hydrangea heads, eucalyptus cuttings, gorgeous red Skimmia Japonica “Rubella” and pine cones, creating an understated, natural wreath.
Once you’ve collected your foraged foliage, the wreath is super simple to make. The RHS have step-by-step videos on their YouTube channels that you can follow. A covered outdoor space in the garden is an ideal place to craft your creation, plus you won’t have to go far if you fancy adding some more spruces and natural ornaments!
If the festivities are getting a little too much and you need a bit of peace and quiet, or you’re in need of a hideaway to wrap those last-minute gifts away from prying eyes, a Breeze House can offer the perfect serene space.
Create a cosy corner in your garden to retreat to whenever you need to this winter, with chunky knit throws, fur blankets, twinkling lights and spiced candles for a relaxing festive feel.
Time well spent
If you have little ones around at Christmas time, a Breeze House provides the perfect place for some festive play!
