When headlining the Ideal Home Show at Christmas Manchester and London, Gocompare.com in essence owned the event in its entirety. How effective was this?
Overall we were pleased with the level of presence at the show, the branding was very visible and we felt we definitely owned the space. Every opportunity to brand was taken and we were very happy with the final result.
What were your key objectives?
This was very much a test opportunity for us as up to 2014, Gocompare.com had taken part in some small events and experiential activities, so the Ideal Home Show at Christmas really represented a first step for us into events of this kind. With that in mind, our main aim was simply to engage on a face-to-face basis with our customers, and bring our brand to life.
Did you meet your objectives?
With this being our first event of this scale, we went into it with an open mind and we weren’t sure what to expect and how the visitors would interact with us, but we were really pleased with the results. We learnt alot in a very short space of time and it’s given us food for thought as regards future event activity.
How did you find working with Media 10?
The Sponsorship team are brilliant, very experienced and enthusiastic and they really couldn’t do enough to help, both in the build up to the shows and on site.
What makes Media 10 different?
Media 10 were always on the lookout for ways in which we could maximise our involvement with the show and made many suggestions around what would work on our stand and what to avoid. Nothing was too much trouble for them to help us out with, from ducktaping steps to sourcing magazines for us, and they kept the team going with plenty of tea and coffee too! They’ve also been very helpful since the shows in regard to research and follow up. We very much enjoyed working with them and look forward to developing the relationship in the future.
What type of visitor did you meet at the event?
A very varied crowd of visitors as the showstraddled weekdays and weekends, somet with a very broad mix of potential customers. The reaction to our giant snowglobe was brilliant, and everyone was interested in what we were doing and saying on the stand. We’ve also had a greatresponse from our prize winners, it feelsgood to be able to give something back.
