The Living Room

The living room is the hub of the home and the perfect place to relax in at Christmas time in front of the TV. With this in mind, keep your furnishings soft and inviting, creating a cosy heaven that you just want want to leave. Think plush throws in textures such as velvet and faux fur and also decorate the room with scented candles for a real relaxing mood-changer.

The Hallway

Welcome the magic of Christmas to your home the minute the door opens! Bring the outside in and dec the halls with festive foliage. If you have a banister, wired garlands are perfect for winding along it. If not, why not create a feature wall of wreaths? And if you want to learn how to create your own wreath, join Blooming Useful Floral Art & Design’s session over on The Christmas Theatre on the 20th and 21st November.

One of the key ways to make your hallway inviting too is smell! It’s a great way of setting the scene for the rest of the festive rooms to come. Why not try your hand at making your own scented decorations this year? Don’t miss Jormaepuourri’s talk on stage as they show you how to make your very own scented decorations using dried fruits, flowers, spices and fragrances. The Outdoors

The weather outside may be frightful but your garden can still be delightful! Stage a cosy corner in your garden with twinkling lights, a warm fire pit table and decorate with wonderful winter plants and wreaths.
