UK Home 4 Heroes | Official Charity Partner Eat & Drink Festival
)
We are proud to have UK Home 4 Heroes as our charity partner for the Eat & Drink Festival 2025.
UK Homes 4 Heroes Pride & Passion was founded in 2010 to support homeless ex-service personnel. It is estimated that more than 4,500 former members of the British Armed Forces are homeless across the UK, and this number is expected to rise.
Since its formation, the charity’s dedicated Outreach team has worked tirelessly to feed, clothe and rehome veterans, supporting those living on the streets as well as sofa surfing. Over the years, hundreds of homeless veterans have been given the chance to rebuild their lives thanks to the charity’s efforts.
Beautiful Retreats Fitting for Veterans and their families
To further its mission, UK Homes 4 Heroes has purchased two static holiday homes: Heroes Retreat in Whitstable, Kent and Knights Retreat at Weeley Bridge Holiday Park near Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. These retreats provide veterans and their families with free respite breaks, offering a much-needed opportunity to rest, recover and spend quality time together.
The charity is working closely with military organisations to identify those most in need, including veterans living with PTSD, elderly and isolated ex-service personnel, and families who often carry the unseen burdens of military service.
Shining Together: Pearly Kings and Queens and Homes 4 Heroes
The Pearly Kings and Queens, iconic figures of London known for their pearl-covered suits and long-tradition of fundraising, have been strong supporters of UK Homes 4 Heroes. The Pearly King and Queen of Bermondsey and Rotherhithe, Jimmy Jukes MBE and Michelle Thorpe, have led imaginative fundraising challenges from a light-hearted “nanny and baby” walk to a daring “Wing Walk” in full pearly attire.
Their creativity and commitment have inspired others to get involved, and this ongoing partnership has been instrumental in raising more than £1 million for the charity over the past 12-13 years.
UK Home 4 Heroes lively singers will be gracing the Sound Stage at the Eat & Drink Festival whilst their volunteers will be collecting donations within the Eat & Drink Festival. Pop along to find out more about their dedicated charity work and to make donations if you so wish, to this valued charity.
